Plastic pearls, full of character

Clare Knox-Bentham is a young Manchester-based designer, creating fun and highly original large-scale illustrative installations in bright-coloured plastic, which can be both wall or window-hung... but it doesn't stop there! She also makes very funky, lovable and unique jewellery pieces, using the very same process. Not surprisingly it looks like her work is quite popular as certain of her collection is already sold out, but do have a linger on her site if you're further interested because there's nevertheless still many goodies availableI refer to her very own words to give you an insight into how she works...

"I am interested in the concept of turning drawings into three dimensions using an industrial process of heat extruded EVA that I ‘draw’ freehand with. This process is unique to me and creates exclusive, one-off pieces of work."

Like a patch-work quilt embodying a thousand intertwined stories, each of Clare Knox-Bentham's pieces is a mesmerising escape into a different universe, one full of vibrant characters and hidden worlds. What I love about her work is that it allows each and everyone to create their own escape and interpret their own special story.
